Rahxephon: Pluralitas Concentio - Anime Review
This anime movie is a summary of the Rahxephon TV series, with some new animation. I thought that the new animation scenes in this movie looked good, clean and crisp. The new scenes of this movie streamlined the love story between Ayato and Haruka. As IMO I best describe this compilation movie as a love story between Ayato and Haruka. I thought that the plot of Rahxephon was different to other mecha anime, with the plot being about living in a closed world, while the other part of the world moves slower than normal.
I thought that the ending theme “Tune the Rainbow” with Yoko Kanno and sang by Maaya Sakamoto, is a great ending theme song IMO. Despite this movie having a run time of 115 minutes, the main focus on this movie is on the couple and story of Haruka x Ayato. If one has seen the Rahxephon TV series, and one watches this movie, one will notice that lots of side characters and character development have been cut out, to add new scenes mainly dealing with Ayato x Haruka relationship. Overall, as IMO I think Rahxephon is a love story, disguised as a mecha anime, I liked the new animation, especially at the start and end of this movie. As compilation movies are common in the anime industry, I thought that this compilation movie is a good attempt to add new elements, that the TV series of Rahxephon didn’t have.
