Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2045 Sustainable War - Anime Review

As I’m a fan of the Ghost in the Shell anime franchise, I would like to say that this compilation movie starts off, on a though ride. What I liked about this compilation movie is that scenes in this movie is graphic at times, and that the build-up of the plot of this compilation movie is good IMO, but it requires the viewer to pay attention to the dialog happening on screen. I thought that the action scenes in this compilation movie is good, but the element of this compilation movie big issue is the 3DCG models of the cast.

My thoughts on the 3DCG character models are that the 3DCG character models don’t look good in daytime, but when it is nighttime, I thought that the 3DCG of the character models look good. I will admit that it did take me some time to get used to the 3DCG character models, but I thought that by having 3DCG character models was a good choice by the two directors of this movie compilation, as it allows the directors to choose and use different and unique camera angels, to show what is happening on screen.

I thought that the introduction of an American Japanese Prime Minister was an interesting choice, as it IMO makes the plot and intrigue of the series interesting. I thought that the character John Smith played an interesting advisor role in this movie compilation. I thought that the plot of ‘Post-Humans’, was a good plot element from the production crew. I thought that the three symptoms that a Post-Human shows/develop(s) (high fever, abnormal appetite and change in personality) added tension to the plot of the movie. I thought that the introduction of Purin Esaki to the cast of Section 9, was a nice change of pace for me.

I thought that it was good in this movie compilation to hear Batou admit that the people in the Major’s squad call the Major ‘Queen Kong’ behind her back. Overall, I thought this compilation movie was average in general, but there’s enough plot and character development that could be developed in the next compilation movie, to make me comeback for seeing how Section 9 will deal with the Post-Humans threat.
