Back Arrow - Anime Review
As I’m a fan of the anime director Goro Taniguchi, as I have enjoyed the majority of Goro Taniguchi’s previous anime series like Gun x Sword, Planetes, S-CRY-ED and Code Geass, I came into this series with high expectations. As I came with high expectations of the Back Arrow anime series, I was a little disappointed with the finished product. As IMO that original anime series are becoming few and far between, I decided to give this anime series a shot, and by the end of the series I felt that this series wasn’t for me.
I thought that the world of Lingalind was interesting, and the Lingalind world was interesting. I couldn’t get into the character Bit Namital, from this series. Bit Namital IMO reminds me of Joshua Lundgren from Gun x Sword in that both characters are used for comedy, and that they only become useful near the end of the series, while also being unlucky. I thought the character designs of the cast of Back Arrow were good, and I thought that the concept of bind warpers was a cool idea, in the world of Back Arrow. I thought that the 3DCG mecha were all interesting and solid, and I would have to say that my favourite character from Back Arrow was easily Fine Forte.
The music from Back Arrow was solid, without being out of place. Overall, I tried to like Back Arrow anime series, but it wasn’t for me. I appreciated the effort the production crew went through to develop and create an original anime series. There were bits and pieces that I liked about the Back Arrow anime universe, but IMO Back Arrow is a love it or hate it series, where there’s no in-between.
