Lupin vs. Detective Conan: The Movie - Anime Review

As I enjoyed the Lupin vs Detective Conan TV special, I thought that this continuation of the TV special was okay. This movie plot deals with Conan trying to apprehend Lupin the 3rd, of susception of stealing a jewel called the Cherry Sapphire. I thought that the subplot of Fujiko Mine being used as a hostage in this movie was interesting, as Lupin is forced to help Fujiko out.

I thought that the plot element involving Emilo Barelti (a pop singer) was okay but felt a bit cliched to me. I liked how the plot element of this movie, related back to the TV special of Lupin vs Detective Conan. As I’m a Haibara Ai fan, I thought that the limited screen time that Haibara got in this movie okay, as Fujiko wanted the secret of how Haibara Ai was so young. Overall, I thought that this movie was okay, but IMO I thought that this movie dragged along for a little while near the end of the movie, IMO. Anyway, I thought that having the Detective Conan main cast have a crossover with the Lupin gang was an interesting experiment, in which there was more good and then bad IMO.
