Batman Beyond The Animated Series Classics Compendium -25th Anniversary - Review
As I’m a big Batman Beyond fan, when I heard the news that DC comics were going to release the 1999 Batman Beyond comic miniseries plus Batman beyond (Vol.2) issues 1-24 and the comic issue Superman Adventures 64, I instantly preordered this item. The art of this compendium is in the style of the Batman Beyond TV series. As I have already read the Batman Beyond 1999 six-part miniseries, this compendium made me fall in love with the Batman Beyond universe again.
The content of this compendium tells stories with Terry’s rouge’s gallery from the animated series. My favourite issue from this compendium, is issue 24. The title of issue 24, is Terry’s mom dates a splicer. The content of this comic issue deals with a splicer using Terry’s mum work job access (she work’s for Astro-Tech), to get access to valuable information, to control various splicers. This issue IMO explorers more details about Terry's home life, which IMO doesn’t get more explored in the animated series, of Batman Beyond. As Terry doesn’t approve of Terry’s mom dating again, Terry’s fears are realized, as Terry’s mother’s date turns out for the worst, and it’s up to Terry to save his mom from her date.
I loved the conversation that Terry has with his mom, at the last page of this issue. I thought that this issue ended on the perfect note, with Terry and his mom hugging. This comic book compendium took me a couple of months to read, but each issue expanded the Batman Beyond universe, and the characters that inhabit it. Despite this comic book compendium not having the Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker comic book adaptation in it, I have this in comic book floppy form, so I might review this comic book at a later date or not. I would easily recommend this comic book compendium to fans of the Batman Beyond animated TV series.
