Dark Devil - Comic Book Review
As I’m a fan of comic books growing up, and reading Spiderman titles mainly, I fell in love with the comic book character Kaine. Kaine is the first clone of Spiderman, from the villain The Jackal. When I was reading the clone saga in-regards to Spiderman titles, I fell in love with the 90’s MC 2 universe, and I collected the spin-off series Spider-Girl. As I collected the majority of Spider-Girl’s comic run in the mid to late 90’s, I liked May ‘Mayday’ Parker’s character, I read and liked the three-issue limited-series comic book characters The Buzz and Dark Devil.
As Dark Devil’s looks like the comic book hero DareDevil, and DarkDevil’’s real identity is Rielly Tyne, I immediately liked how this spinoff comic book series, pays tribute to the Spider-Man series The Lost Years, from the same era. As I like the Spider-Man character Kaine, Kaine plays an important part in this three issuie limited series. I thought that the appearance of the Scries Brotherhood in this comic book spin-off series, was a nice touch by the writer of this comic book. This plot point in this comic book connected me back to the comic books from the mid-90’s, and the Spiderman comic books of this era. I thought that Dark Devils powers are interesting, as Dark Devil’s powers are slowly revealed in this three issue limited edition series.
Overall, I thought that this limited-edition spin-off series was quite enjoyable, and as I didn’t mind the Spiderman clone saga references in this story. Hopefully The Buzz three issue limited edition comic book spin=off series is also as good, as this limited series.
