Batman Beyond Return of the Joker- Comic Review
As I’m a fan of Batman Beyond, I bought the 40-page comic book adaption, because I’m simply a big fan of Batman Beyond. The official comic adaption changes many story and scenes elements from the 1hr 16min movie. I will go into detail about the changes of the comic book official adaption, compared to the movie. As there will be spoilers ahead, please kindly stop reading now, if you kindly don’t want to know the changes. Below is a list of the majority of changes that are missing from the comic book:
The way the Joker dies in the comic book is changed, then compared to the movie.
The Dee Dee sister’s grandmother bailing out her grandchildren from the police station.
The end scene of the movie, where Terry goes on patrol in the scene, which is the ending scene.
Bruce Wayne speech, when he returns to Wayne Powers scene was missing in the comic book, before the Joker appears for the first time in the comic book.
The Joker analyzing the Batman Beyond suit and talking out it, when seeing it for the first time.
Terry driving Mr.Wayne in a modified car, that looks a little like the old batmobile from Batman The Animated Series.
Terry talking to Barabara Gorden, when Bruce has been infected with the Joker virus, and talk about the Joker’s real identity.
Bruce and Terry argue about Terry keeping the Batman suit, and Bruce waiting Terry to stop being Batman.
Matty and Terry’s mom scene. where Terry has breakfast in the morning scene isn’t in the comic book adaption.
The nightclub scene where Terry says to Diana that he all hers, but will have not much money, was missing in the comic book.
The scene of Terry riding his motorcycle from the nightclub to wayne manor, has been omitted in the comic book.
When Terry saves Bruce’s life when finding the joker antidote scene has been shortened, in the comic book.
The scene of when Barabra Goden comes to help Bruce Wayne recover from the Joker serum scene was shortanage in the comic book.
The scene of Batgirl and Batman entering Arkam Asylum scene was shortened, in the comic book.
The fight between Batgirl and Harley Quinn has been shortage in the comic book.
Blood missing in the comic book.
The Joker stabbing Batman with a knife in Arkam Asylum, is missing in the comic book.
The yatch scene involving Mr.Pryce and the Joker’s, scene has been shortened.
Ace coming with Terry to fight the Joker, is missing in the comic book.
The fight scene between Batman Beyond and the Joker has been shortened.
Despite the comic book making many changes to the Batman Beyond movie, I still enjoyed the story, and I would say if your are a big fan of Batman Beyond, I would say the official comic adaption is well worth the price (IMO) of the story The Return of the Joker.
